Search Engine optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC) are two common strategies used by internet marketers. Which is best for you? Both the strategies have their pros and cones and are in highly used. Both these strategies are used to bring traffic at your website but different people have different views on these strategies. Some think that PPC is mere waste of money prefer SEO while other discard the use of SEO.

Pay Per Click
PPC is considered as short term strategy because you need to put a lot of money into it. This strategy is very beneficial for new websites. It includes showing your website advertisement at search engine result page. You can create your own advertisement and start with the keywords of your website. It brings a large number of visitors at your website within no time. Moreover, PPC does not need any creativity, all you need is to put some money and see the result.

Google is ruling all the internet marketing and it is again number one in the case of PPC market. Google adword service let you display your advertisements on search result as well as on content websites. Google also display your advertisements on AOL. Getting your website towards AOL users is very beneficial as they are considered as real buyers. AOL users are ready to invest money and love to shop. Apart from Google there are other PPC services like yahoo, Overture etc.

PPC is beneficial for short term as it gives quick traffic to your website. This helps you judge your website on the feedback of the users. If your website fails to make money even though PPC, then it must need a big change.

Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine optimization is considered as long term strategy as it needs more time. Search Engine Optimization or SEO means working on your website so that it ranks higher in search engines. Some people consider SEO as waste of time because it takes year or more to have high rank on website. Also, Website ranks are not constant you can loose your rank too. SEO do take long time but once your website get high rank in any of search engine, nothing can stop you from making money.

SEO mainly roam around keyword research and using highly searched keywords in your content. Here too Google dominates as Google brings 95% of the world traffic. You can also optimize your website according to yahoo and MSN but Google play a key role for SEO.

Which is best?
Both these strategies are good as PPC need investment while SEO needs patience. You can use any of the two strategies. You can also use both strategies. If your website is new and you want quick traffic, then go for PPC and side by side work on your SEO. In this way, you can advertise your website and as well target the right traffic for your website.
